Title 9th Annual International Interlock Symposium
Project Date August 2008
Description The Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) hosted the 9th Annual International Alcohol Interlock Symposium in partnership with Vägverket, the Swedish National Road Administration.

The symposium was held in Tällberg, Sweden from August 24th - 26th, 2008.

At the symposium, leading researchers, practitioners, government officials, policymakers, automotive and interlock representatives, and public interest groups gathered to share their insights and expertise regarding ways to expand and enhance the use of interlocks worldwide.

Attendees were encouraged to share expertise and experiences across jurisdictions, and explore opportunities to strengthen programs, increase public awareness, improve technology and acceptance, and provide guidance on critical issues such as information-sharing and privacy.

This event attracts more than 150 participants from several countries each year, and is an excellent opportunity to network, to learn about what activities are being undertaken in other jurisdictions, and to discuss common issues of concern.
