The Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) was commissioned on behalf of the Government of Belize by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment to undertake a post-project Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) survey along the Philip S. W. Goldson Highway between Belize City and the Mexico border. The objective was to undertake a gender-sensitive and socially inclusive KAP survey considering the social gendered norms that shape behaviour. It involved the preparation, design and delivery of KAP surveys, focus groups and key-informant interviews as well as analysis of all data obtained.
The results of the post-project KAP survey were compared to the pre-project KAP survey results from 2020 to assess the impact of interventions taken during the Second Road Safety Project aimed at changing behaviour of road users.
